AI generated art has gained recognition in the art world these days, with some pieces being sold for significant amounts at auctions.
The question of whether AI generated art counts as “real” art is a fascinating and often debated topic because many artists view AI as a tool that can enhance their creativity rather than replace it.
On the other hand, Human artists bring unique perspectives and personal experiences to their work. AI, on the other hand, generates art based on patterns and data it has been trained on, some would argue that due to the lack of personal expression and intentionality would mean AI art can’t be considered original.
Even then art is inherently subjective, while traditionally it involves human creativity, emotions and intentions, some AI generated art can still invoke emotions and thoughts, which are essential for art.
But at the end of the day, whether AI generated art is considered “real” art depends on individual perspectives and definitions of what art is.
