Farewell (Batch 2018-2021)
The Department of English conducted the farewell of the batch 2018-21 on 11th July, 2021. Owing to the pandemic, the farewell was conducted on Google Meet. The theme decided upon was ‘De Cru’, French for ‘vintage’.
The event kick-started with the welcome of the professors and the seniors.
Following this, the seniors were shown a glimpse of the digital yearbook that was prepared by their juniors so that they would have something to cherish forever. The yearbook included pictures of the seniors from their college life along with heartfelt messages and notes from their juniors and professors. It served as a kaleidoscope of beautiful memories for the seniors.
Seniors, clad in ethnic wear, shared nostalgic stories and snippets from their college life. A lot of seniors gave farewell speeches that were followed by an address to the seniors by the professors. After the farewell speeches came to an end, a reminiscent video compilation portraying the seniors’ college lives was shown. It became a huge hit among the seniors. Following this, a game segment was conducted wherein games like ‘Never Have I Ever-Literature Edition’, ‘Cards Against Humanity’ and ‘Who’s Most Likely To?’ were played.
The entire game segment ended in mirth and boisterous laughter. It was a most wholesome experience to witness the seniors talk with so much love for their classmates and the professors. The interactive session went on for an hour before everyone dispersed. And thus came the end of the farewell that left everyone in nostalgia and in tears.
