As per Aristotle’s saying one can argue about the authenticity of AI generated art. The debate on the topic is quite a head scratcher because the meaning of art for decades has been about the connection and feelings that one puts on the canvas to create art. Traditionally art has been about expressions but in recent times when technology has boosted, so has the field of art. The introduction of AI generated art is one such example of how vast this field is expanding.
The beauty of art lies in its meaning, it is quite astonishing how art connects the artist and his viewers. A very big part of art has been about conveying feelings, and the thoughts of the artist. AI generated art is aesthetically pleasing and it gives a soothing impression to the eyes but it lacks the emotions and human touch.
Art is indeed subjective so it highly depends on the viewer to find their interpretation of it. Subjective art means that one person might find something meaningful, and the other might not share the same feelings, it can be due to various factors involving life experiences. AI generated art can also be termed as subjective because it might not involve any human touch and authenticity but, it is on the viewers how they perceive it. People might feel different emotions while seeing various art pieces and although AI generated art does not show the creative thinking and meaningfulness behind the art that is presented, as human emotions work, if something touches our heart we humans can find our meaning behind it.
Ultimately, the question of whether AI generated art is “real” art may not have a definitive answer. It depends on how you as an individual define art.
