Hello Readers,
When 2021 arrived, all of us hoped for a better normal with a better year - the hopes still high are flying in ambiguity. 2021 similarly became a ray of change, of new normals, of growth for The Redstockings Chronicle. The council formed only a month back in February yet with immense passion, the team got on daily meetings online, brainstormed on questions we have all had in the past years in Bharati College - how do you make an e-magazine beyond simple articles and stories? An answer to which, we realised, lied in our creativity.
This edition is particularly special for it marks a new beginning of the age old Chronicle. Turning from a monthly magazine to a quarterly magazine is only where the transformation begins, the redesigned website keeps true to the vision the team has had for the literary magazine which is to make it about books, culture, prose and poetry - but never limit it. The edition introduces new columns, new genres and a theme that resonates with all of us in the age of masks - Breathe.
The team of incredibly talented editors have held hands together and established, expressed, embraced ideas of all kinds, literature and its various branches as well as popular culture!
With a new year, we present a new chronicle - one where literature takes its course through all forms and genres of expression, where all these expressions are free to breathe.
Keep Reading, Keep Writing, Keep Breathing!
Or as Sylvia Plath puts it, “Let me live, love and say it well in good sentences.”
